Crystal meth is as popular with girls as it is with boys making it one of the few 'gender neutral' drugs. Girls are drawn to meth because one of the side effects of using is weight loss, usually extreme weight loss.

Scientists who examined data from more than 3 million Texas hospital patients ages 18 to 44 found a link between heart attack and amphetamine use and reported it in 2008 in the journal Drug and Alcohol Dependence.
