Crystal meth, produced on the streets, is a more toxic form of pure meth and it has a blue color, glass like appearance. In medicine, it comes as a prescription drug in the tablet form, Desoxyn. It is far more addictive than the powered meth, thus crystal meth addiction is the most prominent form of the meth addiction.
Crystal meth addiction was rampant in the 1960's and early 1970's. The authorities managed to close down the black market production and thus this form of addiction faded.
Using meth can cause many of the same physical effects as other stimulants such as: increased physical activity, increased wakefulness, increased respiration, decreased appetite, rapid heart rate, irregular heartbeat, increased blood pressure and hyperthermia.
P-2-P is a method to cook meth that uses the precursor chemical phenyl-2-propanone. This method of cooking meth is not as popular anymore because the precursor chemical used is strictly regulated and the meth created is not as strong as other methods of cooking meth.
The most obvious sign of meth use is rapid weight loss. The amount of weight that a person loses can vary from person to person but on average a person can lose 8 to 10 pounds a month for several months in a row.
